Students who undertake part time experience as a teaching assistant must meet the requirements for a student visa. This means that they must take at 40-60 credits of academic modules, they can take modules from across the university but there are different English language requirements for different subject areas from IELTS 6.0 - 7.0. Some academic subject areas are in high demand and may not be available to all students, especially later applicants. These include School of English, Politics, Sociological Studies. If students can be flexible with their module choice this will be really helpful in securing speedy module approval and an offer/CAS for the visa.
Students should also have a minimum academic average of equivalent to a UK 2:2 - or 60% for a bachelor degree from Taiwan.
